LODGING DETAILS

The NCBA has secured a discounted rate of $149 per night at the Sheraton Charlotte Hotel located at 555 South McDowell Street, located less than one mile from the meeting location. To make a reservation at this discounted rate, call the hotel directly at 800.325.3535, and request the North Carolina Bankers Association rate for the nights of October 20 and 21. The block will be released on September 30. Reservations made after that date cannot be guaranteed the discounted rate. FYI, there is a parking fee of $20 per night – fairly standard for any downtown area hotel.

WORKSHOP DETAILS

The purpose of the Workshop is to enhance communication and outreach; increase awareness of FDIC supervisory policies and procedures and enhance knowledge of consumer protection laws and regulations. FDIC presenters and participants will include regional and local managers, examination specialists, and senior compliance examiners.

The workshop will focus on in-depth, regulation-specific topics. Regulatory areas of discussion will include Unfair or Deceptive Acts or Practices, Fair Lending (Equal Credit Opportunity Act and Fair Housing), and the recently implemented new mortgage rules. To provide time for open communication and interaction with the attendees, we are limiting attendance to a maximum of two employees per financial institution. Given the Workshop’s agenda, the session is recommended for compliance officers or other senior compliance department representatives.
