OCC Proposes to Rescind Recovery Planning Guidelines

The OCC is requesting comment on a proposal to rescind its recovery planning guidelines for certain large insured national banks and federal savings associations. The recovery planning guidelines that went into effect January 1, 2025, and applied to banks with at least $100 billion in assets would be rescinded.

The OCC said that relieving covered banks of the obligation to engage in prescriptive recovery planning activities is consistent with the OCC’s ongoing effort to identify and eliminate unnecessary regulatory burden.
