Government Relations – The Regulatory Agencies

While Congress and the General Assembly may pass legislation that impacts the banking industry, it falls to the banking supervisory agencies to develop detailed regulations that actually implement those laws.

We track rulemakings as they are proposed and comment on those that are relevant to or of special interest to the banking industry. We work to keep regulators informed about the practical effects of their rulemakings and discuss with them needed changes.

If there are regulations that are under consideration and which have the potential to adversely impact your bank, or if you have suggestions on ways to reform current regulations, please contact Peter Gwaltney (984-344-9999 or peter@ncbankers.org) or Nathan Batts (984-344-9985 or nathan@ncbankers.org).

One of the things that regulators consistently tell us that they find helpful are real-world examples of how their rulemakings are affecting banks.
